Ghost Ghost

My Button Collection

Just watched The Reichenbach Fall…

So many feelings! This series…

Spoilers under ‘Read more.’

I’m not going to be articulate about this, so here are random thoughts in bullet form.

  • …this show, you guys!
  • It is brilliantly intelligent.
  • Martin and Benedict have the best chemistry and best everything, really.
  • Oh, hello Jen from the IT Crowd!
  • Every time I see Andrew Scott, I think “Oh, look, the Irish Mark Ruffalo!”
  • Andrew’s Moriarty is excellent - very insane, very sinister, very arch-villian.
  • So…they did a really great job of trying to convince the audience that Sherlock had made up the whole thing…and that he then committed suicide…too bad I spent most of my young tv watching years being training by The X-Files. “Trust No One.” (Okay, that sounded braggy and a bit douchey, which was not my intention)…[and the more I try to explain, the douchier it sounds.] What I mean is, I’m usually not surprised by a lot of twists and turns…and am usually skeptical of character death or unordinary character behavior without reasons. (Battlestar Galactica was the one series that seriously screwed with my head in this respect.)
  • Getting back on track…(sorry, hi tangent!)
  • However, what I really like about this show is that when they answer a question, they pose several more in the reveal. (i.e. this show is amazing!)
  • When Sherlock was talking to Molly…all the emotions. Obviously, he needed her to help him with his “suicide”, right? But, that doesn’t mean that, at that point, he didn’t value her as a friend…finally.
  • Martin’s voice when he’s talking in the cemetery…just perfect. Guh, I was so emotional.
  • I love that Watson didn’t believe Sherlock’s lie. He didn’t understand it, but that didn’t mean that he believed it. That, I think, is the core of Watson’s character. And, the core of their friendship.
  • I’m started to babble now, so I’ll stop.
  • Guh! This series, though!
